Our History as Polar Pioneers

2007- PolarExplorers kicks off the year by guiding 2 South Pole ski expeditions (one 2 degree, and one 1 degree) followed by 4 North Pole expeditions ion April. Check out the daily reports from their expeditions!
2006- PolarExplorers successfully guides 23 people to the North Pole with 2 dogsled expeditions, a ski expedition, and 2 champagne flights. Check out the daily reports from their expeditions!
2005- PolarExplorers successfully guides 25 people to the North Pole with 2 ski expeditions and 3 champagne flights. Check out the daily reports from their expeditions!
2004- PolarExplorers celebrates its 20th anniversary. To celebrate, a group stands at the North Pole for the 10th time. Join NWP as we make Polar history!
2003 - PolarExplorers celebrates a decade of expeditions by skiing to the South Pole and climbing the highest mountain in Antarctica, Vinson Massif. NWP's second trip to the North Pole via Spitzbergen includes both an 11 year old boy and a 12 year old girl with the 11 year old skiing the final 5 miles to the North Pole.
2002 - PolarExplorers stands at 90 degrees north latitude after skiing to the North Pole via Siberia. Additional Northwest Passage guests participate in the first flights shuttling amateur adventurers to the North Pole via Spitzbergen, Norway.
2001- PolarExplorers returns to Russia for a second expedition to the North Pole via Siberia. Among participants is the first citizen of the United Arab Emirates to reach the North Pole. A second NWP group reaches the Magnetic North Pole in the Canadian Arctic.
2000 - PolarExplorers sends two expeditions to the North Pole. The first expedition skis to the North Pole via Siberia, while the second expedition dogsleds to the North Pole via Canada, ultimately falling just short of their goal. A third NWP group attempts to reach the Pole by plane but is held back by foul weather.
1999 - PolarExplorers team stands at the top of the world for the fourth time.
1997 - PolarExplorers team completes a third expedition. Participating in the expedition are two of Admiral Robert Peary's great-grandsons attempting to recreate their ancestor's historic final dash to the North Pole from 88 degrees north latitude
1995 - PolarExplorers successfully completes its second dogsled and ski expedition to the North Pole for amateur adventurers. Participating in the expedition were both the oldest and youngest individuals to stand at the North Pole. Also on the expedtion was a team of Chinese citizens and scientists, the first to reach the Pole from the People's Republic of China.
1993 - PolarExplorers creates, produces, and co-guides the first-ever dogsled and ski expedition to the North Pole for amateur adventurers. This successful expeditionmarks a new era in Polar exploration and adventure travel.
1992- PolarExplorers creates and co-guides its industry standard-setting Shakedown Trip for guests considering a Polar expedition.

"Bitterly cold wind today, but I was able to keep warm and enjoy the incredible Antarctic landscape. At one point the blowing snow blended perfectly with the clouds in the distance, creating the impression that the land and the sky were one.
