Rising early proved beneficial for the team, as they capitalized on the morning chill to cover nearly 13 miles. They described a stunning day on skis, witnessing a vibrant sunrise that painted the sky in shades of yellow and blue.

AC/DC is traveling above the Arctic Circle at approximately 66.5° North latitude, the team is experiencing the phenomenon of the midnight sun. At this latitude, the sun remains above the horizon for 24 hours during the peak of summer, providing near constant daylight that eliminates the need for headlamps. The brief period of dusk, occurring when the sun reaches its lowest point, lasts only a few hours before ascending again. This first sunrise on the trail offered a magnificent shift in colors, making the miles feel effortless as the team stayed captivated by the view.

As the sun reaches its zenith, the snow begins to soften, bringing back the challenging "globbing" conditions. Despite this, the team remains upbeat, fully appreciating the immense scale and beauty of the Greenland Icecap. They plan to maintain their early morning schedule until temperatures drop further.
