For those about to descend - AC/DC at the summit!!

The summit of the Greenland Icecap serves as a ceremonial location rather than a physical peak along the route. As AC/DC has been moving eastward on a steady upward climb, the terrain appears flat with rolling undulations in the icecap. These rolling hills gradually rise toward the highest elevation the team will encounter on their journey to the east coast. This elevation has traditionally been around 8,100 feet. Last night, AC/DC camped at an elevation of 8,176 feet, marking their peak elevation along the route. Annie reports that the team is doing well. They enjoyed an almost perfect day on the icecap, with light winds, cold temperatures, and not a cloud in the sky. It was their first full day of travel without cloud cover or excessive wind. "A beautiful day!" Reaching the summit is another of these precious milestones along the route, signifying that their hard work and effort are paying off. It's literally all downhill from here. In addition to reaching and surpassing the summit under beautiful conditions, the team covered just over 16 miles, marking another milestone as their best mileage day so far. If conditions remain as forecasted, we should see the team descending with daily mileage records along the way.
Annie shares this photo of Denis, a navigation aide, and a breathtaking bluebird day at the Greenland Icecap Summit.
