AC/DC started the day with crampons on moving through rugged rubble and ending it gliding on skis through sticky, warm snow. Covering 8.7 miles, the day tested their endurance, adaptability, as they enjoyed moving through changing terrain. The transition from hard, uneven ground to soft, wet snow created a unique rhythm for the day.

The morning started early, moving around 5:30 a.m. the team took advantage of the colder morning temperatures. Moving to an earlier schedule allows them to travel during colder temperatures with firmer snow conditions. The first 1.5 to 2 hours were spent navigating a mess of rubble using crampons.

As they made miles further east the terrain changed, allowing them to switch from crampons to skis. For about 2.5 hours, AC/DC cruised over the firm snow. Pulling their heavy sleds on skis over the firm snow is a huge contrast to the past few days of crampon travel.

As the day progressed, the snow conditions shifted due to the warmth of the day. The snow became warm and sticky. This type of snow is heavier and more challenging to move through. It clings to skis, each step or glide requires extra effort. Despite the sticky snow, the team managed to trudge through without major issues.

Everyone is doing great, both physically and mentally. The shared experience of moving through tough terrain and enjoying moments of ease builds camaraderie. Celebrating small victories, like putting crampons away and cruising on skis is a milestone on the journey east
