I am happy to report that the Ruff Riders made if safely back to "town" today! After a short but uphill slog to find a good and flat landing zone, they were picked up and flown to the civilization that is the east coast of Greenland. We hope they are enjoying a nice hot shower, warm meal and a proper pillow after a hard fought month of skiing across the Greenland Icecap. Certainly no small feat, and we are all very proud of their efforts.
The final mission before flying back to Iceland tomorrow is locating Keith and Augusto's bags that they had sent across the icecap to meet them on the other side... One can imagine the excitement of putting on that one clean cotton t-shirt and comfortable shoes after a month and we are all seriously hoping they get to experience that pleasure. They sure deserve it!
From all of us at PolarExplorers, thanks to everyone who has tuned into this years Greenland Icecap Crossing dispatches. It was one for the books and we can't wait to hear more stories in person soon. Until next time...
