Snowy and Warm Day

The Ruff Riders woke up this morning to nearly 15cm of freshly fallen snow! They left their camp in overcast, no contrast conditions with snow still falling. The fresh snow combined with the above-freezing temperatures made for difficult skiing and wet everything. When snow is wet and warm like this, it often sticks to the skins on your skis, clumping up into frustrating balls that are difficult to kick loose. Despite the tough conditions they still managed to knock off close to 11 miles today.
The team has decided to switch up their travel schedule and will plan to be leaving their camp around 1am to take advantage of the coldest time of the day. The hope is that this will have them skiing on a colder and "faster" snow surface, plus they'll get some pretty amazing sunrises and twilight skiing. Getting closer everyday!
