The weather today was good at Union Glacier but not so much at 89 degrees which led to their first weather delay. Delays due to weather and sometimes logistics are very common in polar travel, especially when flying. They knew that this was a possibility but got the confirmation around noon that the flight wouldn't happen. Instead they went for a ski out to "the beach". Right before lunch they got to watch a bunch of skydivers fall from the sky which was "amazing to see".
Some of the team will be climbing Mt. Vinson after skiing the Last Degree and those who are organized all their gear and made some Y rigs for the fixed line ascent. After dinner they watched a very good documentary about a North Pole expedition from Siberia to Canada in 2006.
All is good and the team remains ready to go as soon as the weather allows. Check back again tomorrow for another update from the team!
