Windbound.

Being windbound usually means that you're in the tent all day, and there's really not much to look at. You can look at each other, at the walls, at the drying line... but not much else.
Drying lines run lengthwise along the top of the tent and they can hold a lot of gear, like in the image above. But with strong winds hammering the tent, the walls will be shaking, sometimes rigorously, and any item that's not well secured to the line will bounce right off. Even items that are secured to the line will bounce around so much that they become a nuisance. Everything is shaking. Even the air in the tent is shaking!
It's pretty cool to see the air bounce around. The best time to witness it is when you've just melted snow and there is some steam coming from the kettle, or from your hot drink. Or sometimes, when you've just taken off your boot, from your socks! The steam shakes from side to side, or up and down, with every gust of wind.
The winds last night and during the morning today were not so bad, actually a little lower than forecasted, which is awesome. But by mid day the wind began to build as expected, and by evening it was blowing hard.
This was anticipated, and the Ruff Riders made sure they were as ready as possible. When they finished their "weather chores" (completing the wind wall, digging out a little and general wind preparations) they kicked back in the tents, relaxed, listened to music, snoozed and made the most of this delay. If there's something that you get good at while crossing the Greenland Icecap, it's making the most of whatever cards you're dealt.
The forecast is for the winds to subside a little in the morning, but unless it subsides a lot there may be another tent day ahead. We'll see. Our fingers are crossed that the wind doesn't linger too long, but then again, it is Greenland ;)
Wow! I feel for you. It's one thing to hunker down in bad weather, but after so much time, I'm sure your eager to get moving. I'm hoping someone brought a deck of cards. Stay warm and dry and keep the updates coming. I'm praying for calm weather for you.
