A Sweaty Day in Greenland

They team made another 20km of progress Westward today in beautifully clear and calm conditions. In fact, the weather was downright balmy, so they spent much of the day skiing in just their base layers and without gloves. They did cross the "summit" of the icecap, which is nearly imperceptible because the elevation gain has been so gradual, but now the altimeters on their devices will begin ticking downward until they are back to sea level in less than two weeks.

in the next several days, they DYE 2 research station will appear as a flyspeck on the horizon, and the team is very much looking forward to visiting the cold war relic. More on that in the coming days.

Check back tomorrow for another update...
